Add the chat widget to your website

One small piece of code adds a chat bubble to every page of your site. When a visitor clicks it, FrontDesk AI captures their job details and sends them to you by SMS and email — even after hours.

What the visitor sees

A small chat icon sits in the bottom-right corner of your website. When someone clicks it, they get a friendly conversation that asks for their name, number, job type, and suburb — the same details you would ask on the phone. You get the lead instantly.

Before you start

  • A FrontDesk AI account (the snippet is on your dashboard under Website Widget)
  • Access to your website's admin panel or settings
  • The widget snippet (copy it from your dashboard before you start)

Your widget snippet

Log in to your FrontDesk AI dashboard and copy the widget snippet from the Website Widget section. It will look something like this:

Your actual snippet includes your unique client ID. Do not share it publicly or paste someone else's code — each snippet is tied to one business account.

Choose your website platform

Select your platform below for step-by-step instructions. Each method is slightly different, so pick the one that matches how your website was built.

Your platform isn't listed?

Don't worry — most website builders have a way to add custom code. Here's the general approach:

Look for a "Custom Code", "Code Injection", or "HTML" setting

Most website builders have a place to add custom HTML or scripts, usually under Settings, Advanced, or Developer options.

Paste the widget snippet into the <head> section

If your platform asks where to place the code, choose "Head" or "Header". This ensures the widget loads on every page.

Save and publish

After saving, publish your site and refresh. The chat bubble should appear in the bottom-right corner within a few seconds.

After you add the code

  2. 2. Click the bubble and start a test conversation. Enter a name, phone number, and job type to make sure the lead reaches you.
  3. 3. Check your SMS and email.You should receive the test lead within a minute. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder or contact us.
